Albuquerque Airport Terminal

I got off the plane, and everything in the airport seemed to be closed. It was around 10:45pm so I guess there are not too many flights out that late at ABQ. It’s a pretty small airport.

I love the southwestern aesthetic of this airport! Also the various works of art:

Also a Wright Brothers plane?

I apologize for the blurriness of all of these airport photos, it was very late and I was exhausted and ready to leave as soon as possible for my hotel!

Welcome to Albuquerque! Finally glad to be here!

Albuquerque Airport Rental Car Center

I took the shuttle to the rental car center to pick up my car. I first went to the Avis Preferred counter. My name was not on the board, and there was no one at the counter, so I headed into the main rental car counter area. Luckily I was the first one to arrive because later on there was a huge line that formed behind me!

Picking up my car was fun: I got hit on by the rental car agent (“That mask isn’t doing you any favors, cause you’re cute” while looking at my driver’s license) Welcome to being a woman alive in the world! I just laughed uncomfortably and hoped I could just get the keys quickly and leave. Avis, maybe train your employees not to hit on customers? That would be much appreciated!

I headed to the lot and thought my car was parked in J8 and got very excited, but then I realized it was in I8…

After getting in my kinda boring Kia Soul, I headed off to the hotel, about a 15 minute drive. I learned while I was staying in town that everything is pretty much only a 15-20 minute drive away, or less.
