Hotel Review: Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale Raleigh NC

I needed to spend a night on the East side or Raleigh so welcome back to Kinda Boring. I’ll be staying at the Hampton Inn here in Knightdale NC for just one night. I booked this hotel the day of travel so I ended up with a 2 queen bed room. Not a big deal, I usually just prefer a king bed.

I found the Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale to be perfectly adequate. It’s a suburban hotel behind a few strip malls next to large big box stores. No one is staying at this Hampton Inn unless they really need to be in the area. It’s not exactly a tourist hot spot. When I travel to Raleigh I would prefer to stay closer to Downtown, but I’m here for work and it’s just one night so suburbia it is. Anyway, let’s get into this hotel review.

In This Trip

Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale Location

The Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale is located right off of I540, the outer ring road that circles Raleigh to the north. In the area there are lots of restaurants, mostly chains, but there are a few local places.

Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale NC Entrance

The Hampton is a little tricky to find, it’s on a back street and for whatever reason my iPhone really didn’t like the address. I swapped to my Android phone and didn’t have any issues.

Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale Exterior and Check-in

I parked and walked into the lobby of the Hampton Inn Knightdale Raleigh. I tried to check in with the Hilton App but I wasn’t able to get a digital key. The front desk staff got me sorted out.

Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale NC Hallway

I headed up to my room. This feels like a pretty new hotel and that’s usually a good thing.

Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale 2 Queen Room Review

Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale NC 2 Queen Room

I walked into my 2 queen room here at the Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale. It was just about dinner time and so I was just going to drop my bags and head back out.

Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale NC Beds

The bed closer to the window. I’m not sure why, but I never end up sleeping in this bed when there are 2 to choose from.

Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale NC beds

The bed closer to the door. This is the bed I slept in during this trip. The bed was comfortable and clean. Between the beds was a night stand. The outside of the beds didn’t have this so if you’re sleeping two to a bed, the outside person won’t have an outlet nearby.

In the center there was both 110v and USB though I usually just stick with the 110v option. That way I can use my high speed chargers.

Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale NC Desk

Near the window in the Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale there was a desk. On the desk was also the coffee making facility. I cannot comment on the quality. I did end up using the desk as this was a work trip.

Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale NC TV

Next to the desk was the TV. I liked that the TV had a sleep function but the TV guide didn’t work for me.

Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale Fridge and Microwave

There’s no kitchenette here at the Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale, but the rooms do have a mini fridge and microwave.

Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale Bathroom Review

Nothing too special to report from the bathroom here at the Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale. It was clean and stocked with everything you’d expect.

Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale NC Bathroom

One thing to note, is that most Hampton Inns have swapped to bulk toiletry items. Here in Knightdale that is the case.

The Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale borders a light industrial park and I had a great view of that and the parking lot. The other side of the hotel would get a great view of Kohls department store.

Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale Final Thoughts

The Hampton Inn and Suites Knightdale was just what I needed for my single night here in the Eastern Raleigh area. The Hampton Inn was comfortable, clean, had a staff that was friendly, and the location was fine, near where I would be working so that’s just what I needed. The restaurants in the area are mostly chains, but I found a pretty good burrito places down the street at La Casita Mexicana.

Like all Hampton Inn hotels there was free breakfast, I didn’t partake as I’m not a big hotel breakfast eater. At the end of the day I was perfectly comfortable here and would stay again if I needed to return to the Knightdale area.
